The Ashlers
The Rough Ashler reminds us of our rude and imperfect state by nature, the perfect ashler reminds us of that state of perfection which we hope to achieve by:
Virtuous Education (lodge Masonic education?)
Our own endeavors (reading, podcasts, etc.)
and blessings of God (between you and The Supreme Architect)
“We use the common gavel to divest our hearts and consciences of all the vices and superfluities of this life, thereby fitting our minds, as living stones, for that spiritual building.”
How will you use that gavel? As we approach the new year, ask yourself, what can I do to improve myself? Of all the working tools of Masonry, which one would you use to obtain that goal? You can choose between all the working tools. By next meeting, have an idea of how you can continue to build your spiritual temple. You can choose whether or not you would like to share with the brethren.
